The client is then responsible for the management of professional designers and the monitoring activities (professionals, tests, laboratories, etc.). This method is advantageous when the client has a large qualified team directing the design and monitoring and has more time given that the activities are carried out “in series”. Despite it being an open book approach allowing for all changes to be dealt with transparently, this method does not suit changes very well as they have a significant impact on project costs and deadlines. In conclusion, it is well adapted to clients that want to have control of the execution of their project, but that are however not sensitive to risks given their major responsibility when it comes to the deadlines, quality and costs of the project.

The client is then responsible for the management of professional designers and the monitoring activities (professionals, tests, laboratories, etc.). This method is advantageous when the client has a large qualified team directing the design and monitoring and has more time given that the activities are carried out “in series”; however, this method is not very flexible when it comes to adapting to changes during the course of the work given that the client is partly responsible for the deadlines, quality and costs of the project.
