Project Manager

Workplace: Baie-Comeau

Hours of work: 37.5 hours/week Monday to Friday

Your Responsibilities:

Pre-construction

  • Stakeholder management (Customer, subcontractor, team, partner, etc.)
  • Participate in the preparation of permit applications and environmental procedures
  • Assistance in the preparation of specifications and estimates for bidding and in the preparation of bidding plans
  • Prepare, coordinate and facilitate constructability analysis, design review and value analysis activities

Procurement

  • Develop and adapt the procurement strategy for each project
  • Manage and prepare calls for tenders
  • Analyze and negotiate bids
  • Prepares recommendations and obtains client approval when required
  • Award and manage contracts
  • Settling disputes

Construction

  • Monitor and control costs and value analysis
  • Participates in site meetings and project kick-off meetings with clients and professionals involved
  • Participate in the drafting of site visit reports and minutes of site meetings
  • Participate in the preparation of the prevention program
  • Maintains the filing of all documents according to procedures and ensures the follow-up of ISO procedures.
  • Coordinate monitoring and quality assurance
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring and management
  • Coordinate change management
  • Manage purchase orders, directives and change orders

Schedule, cost and risk management

  • Prepare the budget estimate
  • Prepare the construction schedule and follow up on progress.
  • Prepare the risk analysis

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architecture;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec or the Ordre des Architectes du Québec (an asset);
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in building construction;
  • Experience as a construction management project manager;
  • Experience in reading plans;
  • ASP Construction card;
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Organizational skills and excellent communicator;
  • Scheduling management;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Good time and priority management.
